As it arrived…

As it left

Here’s the front end, where most of the action takes place

Paul’s ZXR750 racer

Apologies for the half arsed pics – I forgot to take decent ones. Paul has raced the bike at the Classic TT, which is about as serious as it gets. So he wanted an electrical system that was going to work reliably. He’d fitted stick coils as they are rumored to give a small power increase. And because it’s a lovely machine it needed a neat and tidy wiring job in any case.

Like the GSX-R1100 I did the week before, Paul’s ZXR didn’t fire right away. It needed a box checking on the Ignitech software (to disable a ‘blocking’ option in the programmable software. Normally blocking is used for a sidestand switch or something similar.

As with all racers, I had a good think and tried to make a loom that is easy to remove and refit, and which doesn’t get in the way of somebody working on the bike in a bit of a panic. Paul picked it up late one Friday night and took it to Cadwell to race that weekend. Which was nice. I enjoy all the bikes I do, but a Classic TT racer is extra special.

The sub loom for the stick coils. These things look so simple but are really hard to get right

Super trick TFT Koso dash can do loads of things. All Paul wants is revs and oil light
