It’s the August 2024 issue

It even goes round corners without blowing up

My A65 is (briefly) famous

The August 2024 issue of Classic Bike had my BSA A65 on the cover. It was the last of a four-part series following the emotional rollercoaster that is the main feature of restoring a crappy English twin.

The pics were taken by the quite wonderful Mr Chippy Wood, who usually spends his weekend photographing World Superbike, plus the odd MotoGP.

If you know the Northants/Rutland area you’ll see the Harringworth viaduct in the background. The corner is just above the turning to Seaton on the road to Harringworth from the A47.

And the bike? It’s a delight. Engine build by my friend Rupe Farnsworth, loom and chassis build by myself, with moral encouragement and other vital assistance from my colleagues at The Splined Hub.

The electric bit, which would also work for any other OIF Brit twin

A certain amount of smug satisfaction seems appropriate

My friends at my place of work, The Splined Hub: Oliver, Azza, Rosie, Bunj, Louis, myself and Andrew.
